Does your job require you to proofread your own writing? Perhaps in a busy office, under time pressure, with lots of noise and distractions. I have spent many, fruitless hours in the pursuit of perfection, only to realise that accurate proofreading must be done by someone other than the author of the copy. Someone away from a busy office, with the peace and quiet needed to study a document fully. If we have written the copy, or if we are under pressure, we read what we think is in front of us, not what actually is.
Written English is a passion of mine and I love nothing more than spelling and grammar checking, alongside improving sentence structure and written flow. When writing a paper, it is all too easy to get lost in headings, sub-headings, titles and references, so I can offer a clear view of each of these and adjust your document so that it is correct in both format and content.
My service includes, but is not limited to; spelling, grammar, sentence structure, clarity, repetition, tone of voice and correct use of English. For specific projects, I can also offer artwork proofing, for maps, telephone numbers and image references, amongst other things.
If your work requires me to write around the topics you have provided, perhaps in a bullet pointed summary, this would be something I would be more than happy to help you with.
Proofreading will be quoted on a ‘per job’ basis, depending on the size and complexity of the work. If it is a long, continuous document, it is very different to a piece of marketing collateral or an advertisement for example. Please call me to discuss the specifics of your job and I will be pleased to help.
